RECAP4NDC Identifies 213,000 ha for Restoration and Conservation Across
RECAP4NDC’s landscape selection process culminated towards end of 2024 with the application of a methodology combining remote sensing and field work analysis based on a multiple criteria resulting in the identification of a total area of 213,000 ha spread across 22 districts in the three project states (Gujarat, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand) and the Delhi NCR. It is in these landscapes that the project’s restoration, conservation and environmental monitoring activities will unfold.
Comprehensive Legal and Policy Review Supports Mainstreaming of Forest Landscape Restoration in India
A comprehensive review of the legal, regulatory and policy environment was conducted resulting in concrete recommendations for policy mainstreaming of FLR both nationally and in the partner states serving as the basis to promote policy uptake of forest restoration, sustainable forestry and landscape- level planning approaches.
