Description

The Government of India has approved its updated Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) for the period 2031–2035 under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. The new NDC sets the direction for India’s ambition in climate action, building on existing targets while supporting sustainable development and the long-term goal of net-zero emissions by 2070. 

The updated NDC provides an important policy reference for climate action in India, supporting the IKI India Interface’s work with its political partner, the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, to strengthen coordination and implementation of climate policies.
