Description

The Ministry of Power has reiterated India’s growing energy-storage needs, with Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) capacity projected to reach 47.24 GW/236 GWh by 2031–32, requiring an estimated ₹3.49 lakh crore investment. The Government is supporting deployment through regulatory reforms, ISTS charge waivers, viability gap funding, competitive procurement and manufacturing incentives.
