Description

The UN initiative “Partnership for Action on Green Economy” (PAGE), founded in the context of the Rio+20 conference in 2012, strives to enable the transformation of an economy that is not only internationally competitive but also sustainable. PAGE positions itself as an implementation vehicle for the 2030 Agenda and its SDGs and thus meets increasing demand in emerging and developing countries. Given the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, in which governments are forced to put in place large stimulus packages to rescue their economies, it is important that the capital invested is channeled into sectors that enable a resilient green economy and do not create lock-in effects at the same time take into account the national climate targets. To support this, PAGE has launched activities that are specifically tailored to environmentally and climate-friendly crisis overcoming measures and economic stimulus packages (green recovery).
