NDC Transport Initiative for Asia - Phase 2

On-going     Regional

15 Nov 2024 to 30 Sep 2028

Description

The project is a collaboration of six organisations and engages in China, India and Vietnam. It aims at promoting a targeted approach to electrifying heavy commercial vehicles, focussing on a coherent strategy of effective policy levers that are coordinated among various sector ministries, civil society and the private sector. In each of the partner countries, the consortium supports its partners in facilitating and informing these stakeholder processes and in providing selected implementation support to climate actions. This enables partners to make a sectoral contribution towards achieving their NDCs and long-term strategies. As a regional initiative, the project strengthens South-South learning in Asia. It aims at an improved understanding of the renewable energy requirements of transport among energy stakeholders and promotes gender-responsive transport development. On global level, the project engages in relevant UN processes.
