Brazil East Africa Peru India Climate Capacities (B-EPICC)

On-going     Global

01 Jan 2018 to 31 May 2024

Description

Risk forecasting and mitigation measures are crucial for improving resilience to changes in regional climate. The project aims to build local capacity to enhance resilience to regional climate variability and trends by utilizing seasonal forecasting of climate phenomena to assess their impacts on water balance, biodiversity, agriculture, and climate migration patterns. The development and utilization of expertise on climate risks and their prediction will be integrated into the target countries. Recurrent phenomena such as monsoons, El Niño, and the Indian Ocean Dipole, as well as climate change-induced trends, will be projected. These data will be utilized in the agriculture, biodiversity, and water sectors to comprehend the impacts on the population. Understanding and anticipating migration patterns caused by climate phenomena is essential in this context.
