Introduction

India is pushing for transport electrification through the National Electric Mobility Mission Plan (NEMMP) 2020 and FAME schemes, aiming for decarbonization by using renewable energy (RE) for electric vehicle (EV) charging.

The study analyzes Bengaluru, Goa and Kolkata, identifies gaps compared to international best practices, and offers policy, regulatory, and technological recommendations. It aims to create a framework for RE-based EV charging in India by learning from global best practices and addressing local challenges.
